+ Laptop use in school is a definite benefit

We live in a world where we look to technology to better and enhance our lives. Laptops have now become a standard item to have. It is a technology that we all have become familiar with. Almost everyone I know owns a laptop. We see this technology being utilized everywhere at home, work, stores, schools and much more.

Technology is also a way that teachers can enhance their instruction and differentiate learning. A recent article entitled “Study: Laptop learning Improving” addresses the benefits of using laptops in school. Results from the second of a three-year study at Henricho County high school showed a noticeable improvement in students’ history, biology, and chemistry test scores. In addition, this district is learning to implement technology across all content areas. Teachers are using laptops to incorporate blogging, podcasts, interactive quizzes, and online textbooks into their instruction.

This is definitely a great way to implement the use of laptops in schools where both teachers and students can greatly benefit. Not only will it improved the learning and teaching methods but will also create a more fun and interactive environment for teachers and students. Also, with the use of laptops in school the amount of paper being used can be greatly diminished.

It’s great to see that schools are utilizing technology to better the education of students. Conducting these studies to prove the benefits and impact to the students shows that schools are finding ways to improve and better our education system. With education being critical to success, I believe we need to explore and define technologies which will enhance the student’s education experience. The key is to find the best use of the technology and implement it in a way that will benefit and enhance the educational experiences of teachers and students.
